Job Description

We are hiring a Local Structured Data Specialist to help implement and validate local business schema across client websites. This role is laser-focused on structured data for local SEO, including optimizing for enhanced visibility in local search results and map packs.

If you're an expert in JSON-LD, understand the LocalBusiness schema, and have hands-on experience with structured data audits and troubleshooting, we’d love to work with you. This is a remote freelance role, applicants must be based in the United States and have familiarity with U.S. business types, locations, and search behavior.

Responsibilities

1- Implement and audit structured data (JSON-LD) specifically for local businesses

2- Use schema.org LocalBusiness types and variants based on industry (dentist, contractor, law firm, etc.)

3- Optimize for Google rich results, including address, phone, reviews, business hours, service area, and more

4- Validate and troubleshoot schema using Google’s Rich Results Test, Schema Markup Validator, and Search Console

5- Ensure structured data aligns with GBP details and on-page content

6- Assist with bulk structured data implementation for multi-location businesses

7- Keep up with updates to Google’s structured data guidelines and local algorithm changes

Requirements

• Must reside and work from within Canada
• Strong experience with JSON-LD and schema.org markup for Local SEO
• Familiarity with tools like Screaming Frog, Merkle Schema Generator, RankRanger, or similar
• Working knowledge of GBP (Google Business Profile) and how it connects with schema
• Ability to identify structured data errors and resolve them efficiently
• Proven portfolio of structured data work (please include samples)

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Preferred)

> Experience with multi-location schema automation (e.g., using templates, CMS logic)

> Basic HTML or WordPress familiarity to apply schema directly

> Knowledge of review schema, FAQ, or service schema as part of local SEO strategies

> Previous collaboration with developers or SEO teams on technical SEO tasks
